Cannot reset black cartridge on Espon DX 7450

Hi!
I got an Epson DX7450 second hand. It came with no cartridges, so I bought a CIS system on Ebay with autoreset chips. However it does not recognize the black cartridge no mather what I do.

They even sent me a spare chip for the cartridge but it did not help either. Any idea what should I do?

It is not the contacts, because when I swap the black and yellow cartridge it shows that yellow cartridge is not recognized.

question about dynavac single stage vane pump

Mike.A wrote....
Hey
I read your writeup on the resin infusion and I am very excited to give it a try. I have a question about the pump though. You say you use a Dynavac pump. Could you maybe help me out and tell me a bit more about this pump? price? where to purchase? alternatives? Thanks again!, I look forward to giving this a try.

I replied...
Mike,
Dynavac are serious pumps - expensive, noisy, use lots of power, run hot and use toxic oil.
I haven't run mine for years. I even scored a bigger one off an electron microscope - I've never wired it up.

I use a sealed unit/pump from a fridge (like a bar fridge) obtained from a dump. You have catch the oil that comes out and add oil once in a while.
They aren't as gutsy as the dynavac but they are quiet and use maybe 1/10 the power.
I added a fan to keep it a bit cooler - it gets hot here in summer.

I've probably used in for a few hundred hours so far. Not sure what you are planning to make but my little pump work fine for all the little jobs I do.
There web pages out there on using fridge pumps/compressors/seal units for vacuum.

intro

I've been getting a few vacuum infusion questions lately by email. It seems like using a forum would be better as it saves me repeating myself. Any registered user should be able to post here.

The another option is to set up a wiki page and let users use the comment area. There is also open.nedipedia.com where any registered user has full editing permissions along with galleries.
I can also set up mailing lists but they have been a flop. Too many choices

Unless others participate this forum is a waste of time and I'd be better off just doing another wiki-page, that gives me better editing feature and pictures.

Any comments?

I've done a few espon hacks along the way to defeat the chips and do CIS (continuous inking). I've also done a bit of head unclogging and repair work on my printers.

Most of what I've done is already online and I have little to add here.

I only know a little bit about a few espons.
If you have questions about other printers maybe someone else reading the forum can help.

My chip replacement hack is in progress and these hacks usually generate some interest.

binaries

Hi,
Looks like a few people are having problems with some of Daniel's files,
I have no idea what is wrong.
When the site was moved the whole file-gallery directory was moved with FTP - it *should* be identical.

I've disabled the old site to direct traffic to the up to date pages here and to prevent the file leaching we've been having (see hotlinking).

The old site is physically still there and as admin I can still access the files.

If you think a file has become corrupt in the transfer I can grab the old copy and post it here (need filename).

I don't own a win-ce device and I can't verify Daniel's code.

I am at work and can't spend more time on this now.

Cheers Eddie (admin).
